What a Life...

Omo or small Omo as we used to call her was a very nice and calm chic. I've known Omo since 1998. Though she could be abit stubborn at times, she was a wonderful person. I remember two of my very good friends, use to fight for her back then in school. Honestly, I don't think any of them ever managed to muster up courage to ask her out.

Ten years after I knew her, she invited us for her wedding. I still remember that day very well. She introduced to her husband. Beaming with smiles, as she looked into his eyes, you could see true love. I was indeed happy for her. A couple of months later, she delivered an indeed very beautiful daughter.

Not too long after her wedding, her husband lost his job, leaving Omo the bread winner. A role she carried out without any hassle. She even paid their house rent. What did she get in return? Heavy pounding from her husband, who beat her mercilessly on several occassions. He even went as far as selling her car, without her knowledge. When she confronted him about this, he claimed it was beacause he was broke. She moved out, to her family house for six months, but returned because she did not want her daughter to grow up in a broken home.

Who would have though that such a wonderful person like Omo would have her life cut short, by the man she loved so much? A man that was supposed to protect and provide for her. A bastard of a beast. She was violently stabbed to death and had her body mutillated. What on earth could provoke a man to go that far? To commit such a gruesome act on his wife of two years and mother of his only child.

May the gentle soul of Omo rest in perfect peace. May her gormless husband Arowolo Akolade Lukmam never know peace!!

The link below is a tribute page opened on facebook in her honour.
