Racist Los Angeles Clippers owner berates girlfriend for associating with minorities.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling allegedly berated his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, for associating with minorities and posing in a photo with Magic Johnson, telling her not to bring Johnson to Clippers games. Johnson, a Hall of Fame guard, on Saturday responded to the remarks, which have sparked an investigation by the NBA.

A 9 1/2-minute audio of the conversation between Sterling and Stiviano, who is mixed race, was obtained by TMZ and posted on its website.

Sterling rails on Stiviano who ironically is black and Mexican, for putting herself out in public with a black person (she has since taken the picture down). But it doesn't end there. You have to listen to the audio to fully grasp the magnitude of Sterling's racist world view.

A lot of people have come responded to Sterlings comments, including Snoop, who posted a video on his instagram page and Magic Johnson, who took to twitter to express his disappointments

Sterling has a documented history of allegedly racist behaviour. He has been sued twice by the US federal government for allegedly refusing to rent apartments to Blacks and Latinos. He was also sued by former Clippers exec Elgin Baylor for racial discrimination, though a jury was ultimately not convinced and shot down Baylor's case.

Sterling has been separated from his wife Shelly for years. She remains a key player in running the team and sources tell us she's "mortified" by Sterling's comments.

The Los Angeles Clippers have addressed the racist remarks attributed to owner Donald Sterling.

The Clippers team said in a statement that the woman on the tape is “the defendant in a lawsuit brought by the Sterling family alleging that she embezzled more than $1.8 million, who told Mr. Sterling that she would ‘get even.’” Below is the statement released by the Clippers team.

“Mr. Sterling is emphatic that what is reflected on that recording is not consistent with, nor does it reflect his views, beliefs or feelings. It is the antithesis of who he is, what he believes and how he has lived his life. He feels terrible that such sentiments are being attributed to him and apologizes to anyone who might have been hurt by them. He is also upset and apologizes for sentiments attributed to him about Earvin 'Magic' Johnson. He has long considered Magic a friend and has only the utmost respect and admiration for him — both in terms of who he is and what he has achieved. We are investigating this matter.”
The NBA is investigating the tape.

“The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information,” the organization told ESPN in a statement.

Former NBA player Charles Barkley called for Sterling to be suspended and fined immediately.
“The problem I have with it is, if someone wants to be racist, that’s alright, that’s their thing,” the analyst said during TNT’s “Inside the NBA.” “But when you’re in a position of power and you can take jobs and economic opportunity from people, that’s what crosses the line. You cannot have an NBA discriminating — we’re a black league.”
Sterling was reportedly supposed to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Los Angeles NAACP’s 100th anniversary event on May 15.
