This will be the third marriage for the Chain of Fools singer having previously been married to Ted White for eight years and following their split in 1969 she married Glynn Turman in 1978 but they divorced six years later.
Aretha said that she planned on saying “I do” on Miami Beach followed by an exclusive reception aboard a private yacht.
“Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown,” a rep for the singer disclosed.
The singer said she and her new fiancé were “looking at June or July” for the wedding day. She described him as her “forever friend.”
